World Affairs Challenge
- Thornton High School team #1 took the best overall team quiz score at the World Affairs Challenge at the University of Denver.
- Team members were: Calvin Ly (team leader), Keenan Luebbers, Madhav Narayan, Minh Than, Andy Nguyen, and Shauna Robbenolt.

Miscellaneous
- Thornton High School library accepted as a developing power library. (Statewide program recognizing the promotion of student achievement.)
- Juan Rios, Amanda Cordova, Larry Pacheco, Stephanie Salgado, Ana Vallejo and Claudia Marquez-Hernandez were each recognized as a Student of the Week at different times in La Voz newspaper. Juan Rios was on a special edition with the other valedictorian’s from around the area.
- Two THS athletes competed and won at the State Special Olympics in Copper Mountain. Alex Matlock earned 2 gold medals in Slalom & Giant Slalom and Vincent Happel earned a gold medal in the 1K Snowshoe competition.
- Douglas Stevenson earned the following National Ice Skating titles at showcase: National Showcase 2007 Teen Extemporaneous Gold Medalist, Teen Artistic Bronze Medalist, Parade of Champs Extemporaneous Pewter Medalist.
- Shauna Robbennolt was selected as the female representative in the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award program.
- We the People 4th Annual Mock Congressional Hearings rumored to be the biggest and the best in the state. A group of students then competed in the second congressional district competition and placed third.
- Statewide competition Project Citizen; building- wide showcase groups are selected to present at state capital.
