This year Thornton High Schools Future Business Leaders of America is holding their first annual Winter Festival from December 20th, 2007 to December 23rd, 2007. The festival will start at 4:00 p.m. and end at 12:00 a.m. At the Winter Festival, there will be games to play, win prizes, as well as a tree decorating contest. There will be three contests each day, so hurry up and join in on the fun (register at the registration table at least an hour before the contest begins). The Thornton High School's Jazz Band and Choir has offered to volunteer to play for this winter festival, playing and singing holiday cheers. There will also be a dance floor for those who want to show their holiday spirited feet. The Winterfest has activities for the entire family. There will be ice skating, places to eat, and a chance to hang out with Santa and take a picture with him. At the ice skating rink, you will need to pay $1 to rent skates for an hour or you can bring your own. Mini games of hockey can be played. Food will be provided by three of the most popular restaurants in Colorado. The Tamale Kitchen, The Cheese Cake Factory and Chipotle will give away free meals to the first 50 customers who come to the Winter Festival. If you are not one of the first fifty people, don't worry! You can buy good food at a great price! There also will be snack stands, where you can buy cotton candy, hot dogs, hot chocolate and much more! This year the Winter Festival will be held at the Denver Coliseum located at 4600 Humboldt Street in Denver, Colorado.
