DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2008-2009

A TWO-PHASE Driver Education course is offered to students, 30 hours in the classroom and 6 hours on-street instruction (in automatic transmission cars). Each class is “open enrollment,” so students from any school may attend. Students must be 15 years of age by the start of the classroom session in which they choose to participate. Attendance is mandatory each day if a certificate is to be awarded. This course is “Approved and Regulated by the Colorado Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Business Group, Driver License Section”. All early dismissals will result in no credit, no certificate, and no refund; however, the student may take the course at a later time. Grading will be on a pass/fail basis and ¼ credit will be given upon successful completion of the course. On-street instruction will be scheduled for 6 hours as is convenient with the student and individual instructors. Students will be picked up at their residence for on-street instruction. Classroom teachers are certified to give the written test for the permit. The school district will not provide transportation to or from the schools in which the classes are taught.
