Click "Big Ideas Math", then scroll down and click the "Log in with Clever" link there.

OR

Click "Clever Login", then click the Google Logo to log in with your school information. (You may have to select your school from the dropdown menu).

Once logged in, you can select "Big Ideas Math" icon to get to your assignments.

 


Office Hours

  • All high school teachers are required to hold a minimum of two (2) "office" hours each day where they are accessible for questions and help.

  • Zoom or Google Meet links will be shared in Google Classroom at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time.

    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday there will be no new link for the 2nd hour, use the same one as the 10am chat time.

Classwork Expectations

  • Classwork will be posted one (1) week at a time in a new weekly section in the Google Classroom "Classwork" tab.
  • Classwork will be posted for students to preview or begin by 4pm every Friday.
    • This is also when the previous week's assignments will be due for grading/attendance purposes (see Grading and Attendance below)
  • Classwork should not exceed 3 tasks/assignments or 90 minutes per week.
    • If a student finds they are struggling or spending too much time on math work, please attend one of the office hours listed above OR call/text/email me as soon as possible (see Contact Information below)

Grading Policy

  • All tasks/assignments and exit tickets will be graded for completion, effort, and meeting minimum weekly requirements.
    • The minimum requirement for Math 1 is a score of 50% on either the Khan Academy assignments OR the Big Ideas Assignments.
    • The minimum requirement for Math 2 is a combined score of 25% on both Big Ideas assignments.
  • Currently, students grades are set at their published 3rd Quarter grade.
    • Students who meet the minimum requirements each week will end the school year with their 3rd Quarter grade (C -> C)
    • Students who exceed the minimum requirements each week will end the school year with an improved grade (C -> B or A)
      • Requirements for exceeding scores is explained in the Attendance section below.
    • Students who do not meet the minimum requirements each week will end the school year with a lowered grade (C -> D or F)
  • Occasional quizzes may be given using Google Forms or Big Ideas online assignments.
    • Quizzes will be graded right/wrong and awarded points through the platform used, however, quizzes will count as a task and be graded officially on completion and effort.
    • There will be no summative/formative grading scale for remote learning.
  • All assignment points will go into a new 3rd category in Infinite Campus - "Remote Learning". It will have a weight of 0%, so students should not see a change in their grades.
    • Students who meet the minimum requirements each week will receive a 1/1 for that week's assignments.
    • Students who exceed the minimum requirements each week will receive a 2/1 for that week's assignements.
      • Requirements for exceeding scores is explained in the Attendance section below.
    • Students who do not meet the minimum requirements each week will receive a 0/1 for that week's assignments.

Official School Policy Language on Grading:

  • Grades will be contingent upon students meeting or exceeding the minimum attendance (engagement and task completion) requirements. Students that achieve this will maintain their third quarter grades. Students that exceed this may improve their grades. Students that do not achieve this may see their grades lowered.
  • Students that would like to improve their third quarter grades should work directly with their teacher.
  • In the Remote Learning section of the gradebook a score of "0" means the student did not meet the minimum expectations, a score of "1" means the student met the minimum expectations, and a score of "2" means the student exceeded the minimum expectations.

Attendance

  • Attendance will be submitted via Infinite Campus every Friday at 3:00pm.
  • Attendance will be measured by assignment completion and submission in Google Classroom/Khan Academy/Big Ideas.
  • Attendance will follow similar guidelines to the grading procedure above.
    • Students who meet or exceed the minimum requirements each week by 12:00pm will be marked "present" for the week's attendance.
    • Students who do not meet the minimum requirements each week by 12:00pm will be marked "absent".
    • Late work will be accepted for full credit (grades), but district policy has not yet determined how late work will affect attendance.

Official School Policy Language on Attendance:

  • Attendance will be recorded every Friday after 2:30 pm
  • To be marked present, students must meet minimum or exceed the engagement and task completion expectations both categories are explained below:
    • For Math 1minimum engagement/task completion is a score of 50% or higher one ONE assignment.
    • For Math 2, minimum engagement/task completion is a score of 25% on BOTH assignments.
    • For Math 1exceeding engagement/task completion is a score of 50% or higher on BOTH assignments
    • For Math 2, exceeding engagement/task completion is a score of 75% or higher on BOTH assignments.
  • Students who submit work after the deadline will keep their current attendance and subsequent grade until staff can adjust it the following week.

 

If you are currently failing your math class:

  • You must contact your teacher for online make-ups of NE Quarter 3 summatives.
  • You must meet the minimum requirements for Remote Learning.
