Thornton Junior Named Marshall-Brennan National Finalist

Thornton High School Junior Aiyana Urbina was named as one of six National finalists in the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project sponsored by the University of Colorado Law School. Aiyana and 25 other Thornton students competed in a moot court competition with over 200 students from other metro area schools.

Aiyana was picked by a panel of Lawyers, Colorado appellate court Judges and law students as one of only six students who will represent Colorado at the National Competition held in Washington, DC, in March 2026.

Aiyana's excellently crafted argument defended a student whose Fourth Amendment rights had been violated by the school. This is only the second time an Adams 12 Students has been selected to go to Washington D.C.
