Thornton student presents at TEDx on bilingual education
Emmy Alvarez Martinez, Thornton High School Senior and IB Diploma Candidate, presented at the TEDx Cherry Creek Youth event on March 4th. Emmy is extremely passionate about the importance of bilingual education as she felt isolated from both her home culture and the American culture as she learned to navigate preschool and kindergarten in the United States. She has since leveraged this challenging experience into fuel and passion for educational access, breaking down barriers, and translation.
