Hello! My name is Chad Elder. I have been a counselor at Thornton High School since 2011. I am a proud Colorado native. I am a graduate of Adams 12 Five Star Schools and did coach high school soccer in the district for about 17 years. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Metropolitan State University of Denver and my Master's in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Working with students to help them achieve their goals and prepare for their future is very rewarding for me. I enjoy collaborating with my fellow counselors, teachers and administrative staff to ensure student success.
Outside of counseling, I volunteer for Adaptive Adventures, a nonprofit organization that provides outdoor sports opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. I enjoy rock climbing, whitewater paddleboarding, mountain biking and snowboarding with my beautiful wife and son. I feel fortunate to live in a state where I can enjoy the great outdoors often. I am a huge Chelsea FC soccer fan and continue to play indoor soccer.
I enjoy getting to know students and invite you to come visit me at any time.
