I am in my 6th year of teaching 2-D art classes at Thornton High School. Originally I'm from Michigan and graduated with my BFA from Kendall College of Art & Design. Once I graduated, I moved to Colorado to complete a year-long fellowship at Eagle Rock School, and decided to stay after falling in love with the mountains. I now live in Denver with my husband and three dachshund dogs. I am a practicing artist as I think it is important for an art teacher to be practicing what they teach. Art is for everyone, and all student's are artists in my eyes. Art helps us to understand ourselves and make sense of the world around us. We learn to problem solve in new, creative ways, and how mistakes can be oppritunities to grow as an individual.
